About Department

Our Department offer Sanskrit Subject At B.A program since 1969. We Started Sanskrit as a Core Subject since 2005. Sanskrit is considered to be   the Devbhasa which is one of the most important language of Indo-European family and has A very rich and continuous history of almost five thousand years. Sanskrit is considered to be the mother of many languages.  We teach 26 Papers of Sanskrit Literature to our Students. As a Classical Sanskrit Literature We teach Drama like Malvikagnimitram, ‘Abhigyanshakuntalam,’ ‘Vikramorvashiyam’ ofMahakaviKalidasa. Mahakavya–‘Kumarshambhavam’ of Kalidasa. Kathasahitya of ‘Hitopadesh’. ‘Nitishatakam’ofBhartrihari as a Nitishastra. Our student learn Human Values and Ethics for living a Value based human life. They also learn Ramayana and Mahabharata the Indian Epics. Which has a great socio-cultural impact.  Students learn Karmyoga, Bhakti Yoga and Gyanyoga from our Spiritual Shastra like ‘Shrimadbhagvadgita’. Indian Poetics  is very useful Shastra to know about Poetry. So they learn Kavya Lakshan, Kavya Prakar, Shabdshakti, Ras, Alankara. Resource of Indian philosophy is Our Darshanashastr and Upanishadas. They guide them about our Nyay-Vaisheshik Darshana, Purvmimansha Darshan, Sankhyadarshan and Vedanta Darshana. These Scriptures also teach life skills to them for better living of their life. Phonetics is the topic through which they learned how to pronouns Sanskrit language properly. Grammar is inevitable to learn any language thus Panini Vykarana is incorporated  in the syllabus  to enable them to learn Sanskrit language properly
